I was about to make myself a cup of honey this morning when I saw an ant trying hard to work its way into the jar. Sweet sweet honey, loads of it! No wonder it looked so excited. And so, I lifted the lid for it to enter. And, gasp! There were tons of his little friends littering the surface /:

These ants worked so hard to get in,

got in,

and then drowned.

It struck me how we sometimes work so hard to get something and yet, it doesn't always promise happy endings.
