Kept this blog restricted for a few days but since nothing beats the traditional diary, this dusty place is back to house the mundane happenings of my boring life! haha! I am also too lazy to renovate it as I initially wanted to so sorry siyun, it looks exactly the same as always. Anw I hope you unleashed your power during cny too! I know when you like sth, you can eat a whole lorry of it! Remb THOSE hong kong wantans!? :D

School has started (not counting the 2 honeymoon weeks without tuts) and my life reverts once again back to attending draggy lectures, boring tutorials and those accidental unappetizing lunch-time discussions(topics include tales of diarrhea, things guys do to torture people they dont like in army, how to preserve lizards in the freezer, gruesome murders etc etc) Damn hilarious! I think without these people life in uni will be really dull (:

My SEP application don't seem to be going too well! I really wanna beat myself up for not applying for Lund University! Its easy enough to get in and whats more, Max, Joan and Becks all got the same destination!! Omg! They can frolick around pretty Sweden together! I don't wanna go alone so please pray that I get HK or Switzerland(fat hope ):! Otherwise I'll have to reapply again next sem. Sobs!

I saw this on jx's blog and I thought he wrote it quite beautifully:

Sometimes, inevitably, i find myself looking back from this point in time into the past. When we shared a deep companionship that was meaningful and fulfilling; when our lives comprised each other and the rest of the universe was of relative unimportance. When all the stars in the sky were beautiful, shimmering jewels embedded against an inky black pattern wrought into infinity; when moonbeams shone down with a beautiful glow that illuminated and etched the warm, gentle, unsaid feelings that we held dear into our hearts. When we yearned earnestly for each other's presence during the time we spent apart, when being away brought on a sense of incompleteness tinged with longing.

At what point did that change? When did the fragile beauty mutate into a hydra of deceit, spewing more vile droplets of emotion every time one of its heads was cut off? When did the poisonous green canker infect and permeate every conversation, thought, and encounter, robbing it of satisfaction, fomenting endless strands of mutual contempt? When did the playful bickering turn into horrific arguments, the small mistakes into epic errors of unforgivable hubris?

In short:
When did we stop loving?

The End of a Journey?

Quite amazing how feelings can change so absolutely towards a person we once love. I guess it becomes inevitable that when feelings fade, intolerance and impatience towards the person also increases. In the past, it seemed that the person could do no wrong, but now all you see are the flaws magnified.

Its the first day of schoooooool! (: Like kaijie told me when he started school again a week earlier, it felt so unreal when I was once again chasing after the BTC bus heading for kent ridge campus! /: I can't believe my hols just flew past and another sem has begun!

Anw, I began my first lecture by clean forgetting to print my lecture notes. haha! Stats lect was lousy and we have a lecturer whos as funny as a monk, which is not funny at all. It was really great to see everyone again though!! Conversation flying everywhere! Lots of comments about my hair too. The guys all say it sucks, but the girls say it looks nice! I think its quite likely that the girls are being tactful, and guys, being guys are so brutally honest. They should all just go and die! lol! Stupid Jx had the nerve to NOT recognise me HELLOOOO, and Daniel said he saw a wig shop in HK and wld have gotten one for me if he knew.. and Troy is the worse of the lot!! I'm heartbroken!

Weiyan bought me the sweetest gift from HK tooooo (: Its soo cute! I'll upload a picture here when I take one of it! Thanks dearrrr! <3

Met ck after school today and he gave me a sweet little paper rose with a tiny pig looking after the flower! so cuteeee! Don't know what wind is blowing today he so nice give me flower! :D hahah! Then we settled down at Toastbox and I ate the lunch that my cat has packed for me "oh-so-lovingly"! :D It was long bean fried rice that he made himself! Quite nice too (:

After the huge lunch for me, we embarked on a shopping spree for his CNY clothes! We went to Vivo first and bought one pair of Berms for him, then trained to town where we cruised from Wisma to Taka and finally to Fareast, where he bought a pair of ah pek looking shoes hoho, a shirt with a pullover knitted vest, a pair of white jeans and a rugged leather belt! Classy! (: As for me, I bought mascara and eyeliner to experiment with! Wheeeee!

ck and I are having the funniest conversation now HAHAHAHA I'm going to die of a stomachache!!

Today I had a really miserable day in the morning and afternoon ): Like seriously miserable. It felt like... maybe someone pours a bucket of water on you and before you dry, someone else comes along and empties a packet of flour on you. Increased misery. But after that low period, I was pretty happy again. I think I'm so easily coaxed, dont you agree you? :D

I tried my cat's dishes for the first time today! I was supposed to go to his place for lunch but due to some unforeseen circumstances (an angry mom), I couldn't go so he packed some for me instead!

Egg fried rice, chicken stew with mushrooms and kangkong with chilli! (: I think the kangkong was really good with generous heaps of little dried shrimps! I simply love dried shrimps!

We occupied ourselves til dinner with some cny shopping at Vivo before going to Pu Tian at Food Republic to dine (: It serves the white colour lor mee thats characteristic for the foo zhou dialect people! Yummy!

Battle of the muscles!! haha I am so embarassed!

We're both dressed in dull colours so not fun to play with colour accent! ):

Finally, the food arrived! (:

The lor mee and the lala were delicious!! haha I ate until I'm so full!

Also met up with mushroom and sj in these couple of days! Will cont updating next time though (: byeeeeeeee

interest for interest's sake

I'm really bored at home today, just reading, eating and surfing the net. And to add injury to insult, my uni friends are probably all frolicking down the streets of Hong Kong at this moment, feasting and shopping! )):

Anw, a sad thought occured to me today and that is, "I AM SO BORING". I haven't bothered to engage myself in a new activity of sorts for ages. I also can't think of any interest that I want to pursue, nor can I conjure up a hobby that I want to pick up /: It scares me that I'm so.. regular, drifitng along with time, doing what is expected. I never pushed myself to try sth different- preferring the comfort of familiarity. I no longer step out to try and experience a new experience. I feel like I'm becoming more and more timid, guarded - afraid of change, afraid of failure, afraid of being alone, afraid of everything. Like a predictable human being-machine, I'm going to study in my university, compete for decent grades, graduate, get a job, probably get married, slog slog slog for the rest of my life and then die.

I need to change. I think in more ways than one, the culture of my family is changing me and my Mom's frequent well-meaning paranoia has in a way made me more responsible but also more risk and danger adverse. I was thinking today that going for Exchange will be a good time for me to be independent for once. Although the thought of leaving Singapore for five months is daunting- it spells no family, no chankeet and maybe even no (real) friends- I'm quite determined to go. I need to grow up, learn to feel more secure about myself, weigh and make my own decisions. I need to learn to take care of myself and not depend on others to look out for me anymore!

Now I just have to hope that I'll get in! (:

of fallen rain and lonely days

Played badminton with Dawnnie today and it was real fun! I'm dead man, after like ten minutes I was panting and sweating and to Dawn's great astonishment, I collasped on the floor and told her I'm damn tired alr!! HAHA! Definitely an indication of severe lack of exercise /:

Look at dawn's classic face man! Looks like SCREAM's monster right? lol!

Dawn collasped with laughter and left me shooting dark looks at her haha

After such a strenuous workout, what is the most appropriate activity one should engage in? BUFFET of course!! :D So I met my PIC kaijie and my big bad sis for hi tea buffet at Nihonmura! Shiok! No pics of the food cause we were too busy stuffing our faces..

Here's the only decent picture we took! The others are complete failures as illustrated below...

Cheek, BIG KJ, Cheek -.- lol!

haha I'm just getting lazier and lazier to blog nowadays! First things first, HAPPY BELATED NEW YEAR everyone! (: 2008 has been a great year where I totally enjoyed my first 7 months working, playing, slacking and being totally stress-free. Working at Starhub was fantastic with fab colleagues, and working under a crazy unreasonable and totally f-up boss at RTC was terrible at that time but in retrospect, definitely a good experience. In the last 5 months I entered my new phase of life at NUS Business, had loads of fun at FOC, and got to know a group of most wonderful friends! (: (Which expanded after Oweek!) Also, there's my first uni exam and the accompanying horrors of it.

Unfortunately, 2008 definitely wasn't a great year for the world, what with the Si Chuan Earthquake, terrorist attacks in Mumbai, the various protests and strikes in Thailand, Melamine posioning in China and now the world wide economic crisis and collaspe of the finance sector. Lets hope 2009 will be better! (:

I have a backlog of many pics so I'll just upload them here and let the pictures do the talking!

Treasures of mine collected over time! Piles of letters from Angel-Mortal, numerous birthday and christmas cards, little gifts, farewell notes and presents in the transitions from pri to sec school and from sec school to jc and finally leaving jc. There's also a separate special box with my collection of stuff from Garfield (: Makes me smile when I go through the items as each brings back a different memory. I was also thinking if touch wood touch wood we do separate one day, I might have to burn it all to spare myself the heartache! haha! Ouch right. But for the record, we're currently happily together and much in loveeee((:

Xmas dinner! We (read: Mom and Sis) baked our first homemade turkey! In case you all accuse me of being a free rider, I did help out okay!! :D I was the one who peeled and chopped up all the garlic to season the turkey with :D A very important role! haha! And it made my hands smell garlicky all day //: I HATE GARLIC btw (other than it being used as a marination)
Xmas exchange was hilarious cus my dad remembered wrongly who he was supposed to buy for and my poor Mom ended up with no present and my brother had 2! My mummy must have been a bad girl this year thats why she had no present haha

And here's my forgetful dad and moomoo on xmas! (:

Cook out at Garfield's cosy little kitchen! (: ck was trying to imitate liu yidao from little nonya in the 2nd pic! haha! Fear not, he is quite harmless although he likes to weild knifes and occasionally stab people :D Our shirt colours look like those double sided colour pencils I used to use when I was young! Nice! (:

Oh, who has cut these strawberries up oh-so-nicely? OF CUS IT ME LAH! haha! :D

We made two items that day! The strawberry marshmellow cake (Claire's speciality) and muah chee! (Garfield's speciality) I reinvented the strawbery marshmellow cake by creating a volcano down its middle! (oops) No pictures of that disaster as I need to erase all evidence so ck cant dig the pic out and mock me! :D

Does it look good? :D

Squadouting finally! (: It was wonderful to meet my beloved squad again! (: Collage courtesy of Tiffany, who took pains to collate everyone's unglam shots! haha!

And a group shot at Swensons to end off the wonderful day! (:

Patronised Pastamania with ck to revisit our first date memories! haha! Its quite funny actually as our dear ck here is not a big fan of pasta but since I didn't know him much before we went out for the first time, I suggested pastamania and he agreed with what he explained now was forced enthusiasm. I was quite amused when he solemnly ordered fried rice at PASTAmania. Funny guy (:

I finally made the decision to chop off my hair again despite resolute resolution to keep it long after my last hair cut! Guess I'm not the long hair kind of girl; I never managed to keep my hair longer than shoulder length! lol!

Pardon the pic on the left but that is the last picture I took with my "long" hair down! My new hair looks abit funny right? I'll just need some time to grow into it /:

Finally! Class outing yesterday at Yong's place!! (:

More pics for facebook people! (: It was a good catch up and thanks Yong for the sweet xmas gifts for Moomoo and Mimi! (: He actually gave my pets and not me lorh!! hahaha! -complains- But the gifts are damn cute (: Thanks soph too for the pouch from Nepal! (: Really pretty and perfect for the minimal amt of make-up I possess! :D

Oh yes, ck's Mom gave me the perfect xmas gift this year too! Its CHANEL's silky eyeshadow duo! (: I love it so much! Wheee!

Okay such a long post! In the end I didn't really let the pictures do the talking, did I? hahaha!

Have a good year ahead everyone and Happy back-to-school too for all! (:
